COVID19 times
4/27/2020
Current Covid19 times may find you experiencing a wide range of emotions and challenges.
I share time on this beautiful planet Earth as a mother, wife, family member, friend and yoga teacher. A few weeks ago I went for jog and found myself pausing at the top of a beautiful warm valley, luscious greenery basking in the rich afternoon sunlight & birds singing in perfect chorus. I took a moment to stop, to take a deep breath and soak it all in.…silent tears streamed down my hot face in sheer grief of how this virus has challenged humanity in so many ways. Yes, we all see and fully appreciate the positive. How nature has re-awakened to our doorsteps, how humanity may feel more deeply & unite for a more integrated life on our living breathing home Earth. However comforting these notes of optimism may be, dealing with this experience needs more support in soothing, processing and accepting.
A call to step up and help surfaced from within me, how could little me help in some big-little way? After pondering for a few nights and days it came to me. People all over the globe despite the slower pace and stillness are suffering silently mentally, physically and emotionally.
I needed to make accessible to all worldly willing people the opportunity to share a gentle practice instilling MIND+BODY+BREATH connection, a practice that will build strength, flexibility and calm incessant thought waves of the mind. These sessions are for anyone willing to take a deep breath, reconnect to true inner peace & strength, ignite the fire of joy, find acceptance and gratitude and move forward with calm clarity and grace.
My step up and commitment is choreographing 30min YouTube sessions to be published on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. The sessions will include breath work, wholesome yoga pose sequencing and calming the fluctuations of the mind. Everything you need resides within you, you don’t have to look far.
Sessions will be published on YouTube, look for 'Yoga Budding'. These sessions will also be accessible on my website www.yogabudding.com under the online classes tab, you can also request to join a variety of live Zoom sessions via the website if you like.
So pop on some comfy but not baggy clothes, clear a space for yourself & dedicate the 30 min. If you don’t have a mat-lay a towel down, if you don’t have a block-grab a small firm cushion and if you don't have a strap an old tie will work. I’m not a big tech person, sessions are not going to be staged or made to look pretty. It’s all about the essence of the practice and what I hope will become one of your 5 a day.
-You don’t need to be flexible to start yoga.
-If you have any concerns check with your doctor before starting any exercise regime, including yoga.
-Practice with kindness, in mind and body.
-Remember it’s not about the complete pose it’s about the practice. Wherever you get to is the complete pose for you at that time, breath.
-No pain no gain does not fall within the scope of a Yoga practice.
-Yoga is not a religion, all are welcome to practice.
